BAVC is the nation’s most advanced nonprofit media technology access and training center. Since our founding in 1976, BAVC has been connecting underserved populations with new opportunities in media technology and providing leadership to the field with its innovative programs in training and media production.  Since the late nineties BAVC has actively supported a new generation of diverse mediamakers through YouthLink, a comprehensive after school program in web design and video production.

With BAVC’s merge with Youth Sounds in 2006, our combined audio, video, and web programs now represent the most comprehensive and entrepreneurial youth media and technology training programs in the country; a pathway model of youth education, expression and employment that works to simultaneously develop a young person's artistic talent, provide them advanced training in new media, and help them develop the life skills necessary to successfully collaborate on and produce a high-quality creative work.
